A quieter way to browse, read, and watch.

Available now for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Open websites from Home, resume identifiable videos, and use simpler viewing controls.

Existing reading, notebook, export, optional iCloud, and availability-gated Apple Intelligence features carry forward. iOS/iPadOS 17 and macOS 14 remain the minimum versions.

3.0 help

A direct start

Enter a website address on Home. Library, Notebook, Saved Sites, Appearance, and Help are close at hand in the menu.

Your mode, a fresh session

Keep your Standard or Incognito choice across launches. The last website is never restored, and a remembered Incognito choice opens a fresh private session.

Pick up where you paused

In Standard mode, reopen an identifiable video and choose Resume or Start Over. Positions stay on this device; live streams and hidden or changing media identities may not support resume.

More room to watch

Hide browser controls with Full Screen, then bring them back with the floating inward arrows. On Mac, Escape also restores the controls.

Controls that fit

Compact Mac playback controls wrap in narrower windows. Use the clock button for time jumps, including HH:MM:SS for longer videos.

Smoother everyday navigation

Page updates preserve your address edits, with improvements to browser sessions, Mac menus, and audio-session responsiveness.

Resume is conditional on a recognizable video and finite duration. Completed videos start over. Positions are local, excluded from iCloud, and removed with History. Incognito positions last only for the session. Native playback, AirPlay, and Picture in Picture remain source-dependent; no compatibility with every provider or receiver is promised.

Home, Watch, and on-device intelligence

Version 2.0 introduced a shared Home, Watch, and on-device summaries for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac app. Version 3.0 is now current.

Watch compatibility remains source-dependent: unsupported, DRM-protected, cookie-bound, or hidden media stays in the website player.

Home and appearance

  • A shared Home workspace for Library, Notebook, and Watch across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
  • Aurora, Paper, and Signal themes with separate Auto, Light, and Dark appearance.
  • Article and Watch fields add https:// when an address omits a scheme.

Watch saved sites and privacy

  • Watch starts without a bundled or remembered website.
  • Standard uses persistent WebKit website data and keeps local, versioned Favorites plus normalized History capped at 500 completed visits.
  • Favorites and History support opening entries and category-scoped single, selected, and delete-all actions; Favorites can also be renamed.
  • Clear Website Data remains separate from Favorites and History.
  • Incognito uses a non-persistent WebKit store, adds no History, and destroys its session on exit; an explicitly saved Favorite persists locally.

Conditional native playback

  • Video websites open in WebKit for discovery, sessions, cookies, and provider controls.
  • Eligible direct HTTP(S) HLS or MP4 sources can move temporarily to AVPlayer.
  • Eligible native playback can support AirPlay, Picture in Picture, background and lock-screen playback, Automatic/1080p/720p limits, reported resolution, and exact time jumps.
  • Skip Ads is optional, defaults off, applies only to short finite segments, and has a consecutive-skip safety limit.
  • Unsupported, DRM, cookie-bound, or hidden sources stay website-only.
  • Leaving the player or workspace explicitly tears down website and native playback.

Apple Intelligence

  • Reader summaries run on-device through Apple’s system Foundation Models capability.
  • The feature appears only when the system capability is supported, enabled, and ready.
  • A summary is stored only when the user explicitly saves it to the notebook.

What the app may do

Pass an eligible direct media URL in memory to Apple's native player for compatible playback capabilities.

What it does not do

Download, proxy, convert, persist, save, or add video content to the article library, or bypass DRM and access controls.
